Nebraska’s biggest AAU tournament of the summer, the River Cities Tip-off, is taking place August 7th-9th. Here are some of the notable performances so far.

Hunter Sallis - OSA 17U Adidas
Hunter will pretty much be a standout performer in any tournament he plays in. The 5 star prospect led OSA in scoring in all 3 games so far, where his squad went 2-1 with the only loss being a 3 point loss to KC Run GMC 17U UAA. Sallis is averaging 19.7 pts on 60% from the floor in the 3 games so far.

Mark Mitchell Zeke Mayo
Mark Mitchell/Zeke Mayo - KC Run GMC 17U UAA
Mitchell, a 5-Star and top-15 player in 2022, and Mayo, a 3-Star with Mid-Major offers, combined for 41 of Run GMC’s 73 in a big win over OSA 17U Adidas. Mitchell was efficient, doing a lot of his work at the rim. Mayo was also efficient, going 7/12 from the field and 3/5 from deep. This duo gave OSA some trouble and was a big reason why Run GMC knocked off OSA a 2nd time this summer.

Caleb Benning - TNE 8th
Benning had a good showing against a tough OSA National 14U Sieg team that saw TNE taking a 63-59 win. He scored 15 points to lead TNE and had some great defensive plays to seal the win for his team. Benning is one of the top players in the Class of 2024, and he proved that by leading his team to a win. Sidenote: TNE 8th was recently ranked 17th in the country for class of 2024 by Coast2Coast Preps. Of course, player/team rankings mean virtually nothing at the 14U level, but it was pretty cool to see yet another team from Nebraska get national recognition.

Pryce Sandfort Payton Sandfort
The Sandfort Brothers - Kingdom Hoops
Payton Sandfort and Pryce Sandfort, who play for Kingdom Hoops 17U and Kingdom Hoops 15U Navy, respectively. Payton is a deadeye shooter with a lightning-fast release. His younger brother, Pryce, is just the same way. Payton scored 21 points and had 5 assists against 815 North Select, and the game before that, his brother Pryce had 23 points, with 21 coming in the 2nd half against a tough OSA 15U Adidas team. Payton also dropped 22 against Team Factory 17U UA Rise on 5/6 from deep. Waukee High School is loaded with talent this year, and the Sandfort brothers are no exception.

Carter Glenn - Lincoln Supreme National 1
Glenn did a lot today against Nebraska Select. He finished with 27 points (on 9/12 shooting) 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. He was solid all around, whether it was boxing out and getting a rebound, finishing strong at the rim, or finding a teammate for a bucket, he had a very good game.
