River Cities Tip-Off 2020 was filled with talent. Here is a look at some of the best from ages 15U-17U.

1st team All 2021

Chucky Hepburn - Team Factory 17U UA Rise

Hepburn led his team to a runner-up spot and dropped 32 in the championship game, but came up just short. He was efficient all weekend and did all the things his team needed to win games.

Hunter Sallis - OSA 17U Adidas

Sallis was the highest ranked player in this tournament (#10 in Nation) and he sure played like it. He averaged 17 points per game on 54% shooting this weekend against some really good competition and led his team to a championship.

Payton Sandfort - Kingdom Hoops 17U

Every time Sandfort plays in a tournament I cover, I have to write about him. He’s tremendous at scoring, where he probably averaged north of 20 points a game this weekend. He’s severely underrated nationally, but his name will blow up soon.

Carter Glenn - Lincoln Supreme 17U National 1

Glenn isn’t flashy or eye popping, but he really gets the job done. In the 2 games of his I got to watch, he averaged 25 points, about 3 steals, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Glenn somehow holds no offers yet, but that should change with a big senior season.

Frankie Fidler - Team Factory 17U UA Rise

Fidler was a great option for Factory this weekend, having games of 22, 16, and 14 when I watched him. Him and fellow 1st-Teamer/high school teammate Chucky Hepburn gave Bellevue West a nice 1-2 punch. Fidler holds 2 D1 offers as well as a D2 offer.

2nd team All 2021

Danair Dempsey - OSA 17U Adidas

Dempsey had games of 15, 15, 14, 12, and 10 in the games I watched. He always gave OSA a spark, especially in the championship game, where he came off the bench and was 4/5 from deep to boost OSA to the title. He is versatile, a good rim protector, and loves his corner 3’s.

Pierce Bazil - Lincoln Supreme 17U National 1

Bazil is really darn good at finding ways to score. In the 2 games I watched, he averaged 22 pts on about 50% shooting. He finishes at the rim well and can shoot the 3 very well. He only holds 1 D2 offer so far, but more should be coming.

Michael Duax - Martin Brothers 17U UA Rise

Duax, a Northern Iowa Basketball commit, had a solid outing against OSA 17U Adidas. He had 15 points and played with really good confidence. Duax finished well at the rim and converted free throws at a high rate.

Zeke Mayo - KC Run GMC 17U UAA

Mayo holds a couple Mid-Major offers, but he should be getting more attention soon. Mayo shot really well for KC Run GMC 17U UAA and was very shifty handling the ball. Mayo rebounded well for his size too.

Ryan Blum - Team Factory 17U UA Rise

Blum can shoot the ball really well and that was his specialty this weekend. In the last 2 games of the weekend, he had a combined 28 points on 10/14 from the field including 7/11 from 3. He would get red hot at times and give Factory a big boost.

1st team All 2022

Jasen Green - Team Factory 16U UA Rise

Green, who holds multiple Power conference offers, showed what he’s best at this weekend. He often led the team in blocks and scoring. He has the skills of a guard while standing at 6’6 and possessing great post skills as well. Green was a huge part of Factory’s championship win

Chandler Meeks - Team Factory 16U UA Rise

Meeks is a quick, strong guard who’s mid range pull-up is his bread and butter. He’s a lockdown defender that can score well too. 17 points in the championship game helped Factory put away a good OSA team.

Reggie Thomas - OSA 16U Adidas

Thomas, who holds 1 D1 offer, averaged 16.5 points in the 4 games I watched of his, including 23 in the championship game. Thomas is extremely strong and can lock up on defense as well.

Taj Manning - KC Run GMC 16U UAA

Manning was only in town for 2 games, but I liked what I saw from him. He averaged 20 points and 7.5 rebounds for KC Run GMC. Manning holds an offer from Creighton.

Mark Mitchell - KC Run GMC 17U UAA

Mitchell played up with the 17U team this weekend and proved why he is a top-15 prospect nationally. He had 20 points on 64% shooting against OSA. He had a few highlight dunks this weekend and would’ve had more if he had played more games.

2nd team All 2022

Josh Dix - OSA 15U Adidas

Dix scored a lot this weekend and did it in a variety of ways. He hit the 3 a good amount, but where he was best was driving in and finishing at the rim or finishing the play at the free throw line. Dix has a few D1 offers with growing interest.

Payson Gillespie - OSA 16U Adidas

Gillespie had a really good weekend shooting the ball. He’s been known to light it up aat times and this weekend showed a glimpse of that. Gillespie holds 1 offer (Jamestown University) but an increased role at Omaha Westside might gain him interest from other schools as well.

Kyle Ingwerson - OSA 16U Adidas

OSA has a lot of guys who can score, and Ingwerson is no exception. His 2 best games were 21 points and 15 points, and even when he wasn’t scoring he was impacting the game by getting rebounds or playing solid defense.

Ashton Hermann - Kingdom Hoops 16U Navy

Hermann kept Kingdom Hoops in the game against Team Factory 16U UA Rise and could’ve saved the day with a game-tying 3 against them, but it was tipped and fell short. Kingdom Hoops seems to have a lot of great shooters, and Hermann is definitely on that list.

Steven Kramer - Kingdom Hoops 16U Navy

Kramer did most of his work driving to the rim. He scored 15 against Team Factory 16U UA Rise and was a great 1-2 punch with Ashton Hermann.

1st Team All 2023

Connor Millikan - OSA 15U Adidas

Millikan was 2nd state in scoring for all freshmen on varsity last year (19 ppg), and he may have done the same for this tournament. He had a game with 23 against Lincoln Supreme National 1, and had 28 in a championship win against Kingdom Hoops. Millikan can score from about anywhere on the court.

John Mitchell - Lincoln Supreme 15U National 1

Mitchell led the state in scoring for all freshmen last year (24 ppg) and was 5th in state for all players in scoring. This tournament was more of the same.He probably led his team in scoring in almost every game he played. He’s crafty at getting around defenders and smooth with his finishes.

Pryce Sandfort - Kingdom Hoops Navy 15U

Pryce is the 2nd Sandfort brother to appear on an all-tournament team. He plays just like his older brother, a lights out shooter with a lightning quick release. If there were a 2v2 tournament for brothers in the midwest, I might have to pick these 2 as my favorites to win it.

Carter Tempelmeyer - OSA 15U National Padilla

Tempelmeyer has had an extremely good summer. According to his coach, he’s averaging 17.4 points a game as well as 6 rebounds a game. This weekend, he had games scoring 20, 23, and 20 while shooting efficiently as well. At one point this summer he was 38/39 (97.4%) from the free throw line.

Owen Hancock - Lincoln Supreme 15U National 1

Hancock did a lot of little things that didn’t always show up in the scorebook, but helped supreme win games. He also did some big things that did show up in the scorebook, including games of 21 points and 14 points. Hancock should see an improved role at Wahoo this coming year.

The rest of the best

These players didn’t make the all-tournament teams, but they are still worthy to mention as solid players who will play at the next level.

2021 Lucas Vogt - OSA 17U Adidas

2021 Cameron Binder - OSA 17U Adidas

2021 Denim Johnson - OSA 17U Adidas

2021 Joey Hylok - OSA 17U National Porter

2021 Majhe Wiley - OSA 17U National Porter

2021 Airan Lopez - Team Factory 17U Gold

2022 Jayden Dawson - Team Factory 16U UA Rise

2022 Daniel Brocaille - Team Factory 16U UA Rise

2022 PJ Davis - OSA 16U Adidas

2023 Tate Odvody - OSA 15U Adidas
